ART STOP(S) FALL 2020 OCTOBER 1ST, 4-7 PM

The non- traditional pop-up gallery event for local artists is an opportunity to showcase their artwork, network & gain financial support for the art creative community.

The event is free and open to the public, with special street performances to liven the Downtown Springfield experience as visitors enjoy the artwork of Jennifer Bruno, Denise Riggs, José Gamaliel Crespo Rosado, Isabella Delloilo & Marla Shelasky.

Downtown venue locations include, New England Public Radio, Valley Venture Mentors, 1550 Main Street and UMASS Springfield.

A Double Dose of Art

November 3, 2019 from 2 PM - 4 PM at Springfield City Library, 220 State Street

Celebrate the art and artists of two newly commissioned art projects in this free public reception. The Springfield Cultural District will reveal the winners of Uplifting, their exciting elevator art project, and Art Central will unveil Color and Light, a new collection of art works created by Artists of Springfield MA. 

2 pm: Artists of Springfield MA exhibition unveiling. The  artists of Color and Light are Mary Blaxland, Ellen Pollock, Jose Gamaliel Crespo Rosado, and Wanda Davila

3 pm: “Uplifting” Art on Elevator Doors with art by Joy Smith, Mariela Chavez and Ryan Murray will be unveiled. “Uplifting” is a Springfield Cultural Partnership project.

Representatives from both groups will offer brief presentations of their inspired work, and the featured artists will be on hand to meet the public. An artist reception with meet and greet and serving artisan food from Nosh will occur between events. Both events are made possible by funding through the Springfield Cultural Council and Mass Cultural Council.

RETURNING OCTOBER 4, 2019 The Springfield Cultural Partnership is bringing Art Stop(s) back to downtown Springfield in Fall of 2019 following the success of the May 3 Art Stop(s). The event is free and open to the public. It highlights the flourishing creative economy within the Springfield area.

Artists selected for the October 4th Pop-Up Gallery locations include Angela Vincent, Liana Murphy, Glenn Yarnell Jr, Karen Burke, Gabriela Sepulveda, Mari Chavez and artists from the Valley Educational Associates (VEA).

Buskers will also activate the Main Street in areas around Tower Square Park. The talent performing on opening night of Art Stop(s) includes: Members of Squash Blossom Band, Ezzell Floranina stilt dancers, DJSwanStar, vocalist Luna Lucia, musicians Rose & Fred Higgins and musicians Karoun Charkoudian & Timothy Ballan of Tres Classique.

On Saturday, September 21, 2019 the Springfield Cultural Compact will be hosting the inaugural event “Thank an Artist” celebrating Springfield’s creative community. The event is free and open to the public and will occur on the MGM Springfield Plaza.
